Vacancies on the Ethics Committee
The King County Ethics Committee is currently seeking to fill two vacancies on the five-member body. The purpose of the Ethics Committee is to ensure that King County employees and contractors adhere to ethical behavior and uphold the people’s trust in King County as an open and honest government.
In addition to its regular oversight work, council members will have the opportunity to contribute to an update to the county’s code of ethics, which is scheduled for release in 2022.
Board members generally devote between two and four hours per month to board business and normally meet on the third Monday of each month during the working day. Members are appointed to the Ethics Committee for a three-year term and may be reappointed.
The county is seeking to create an ethics committee that reflects the racial, ethnic and geographic diversity of King County and people from all walks of life and from cities outside of Seattle are encouraged to apply. The main criteria for candidates are sound judgement, integrity and professional training or experience that would ensure the ability to deal with complex and sensitive ethical issues.

All application materials must be received by August 17.
