Retail sales in June rose 0.6% from May, while economists expected a decline of 0.4%. Sales fell 0.7% sequentially in May. Investors want confirmation that economic growth is not significantly constrained by supply shortages.
“It’s all about the retail sales of tomorrow,” said Louis Navellier, founder and chief investment officer at Navellier & Associates on Thursday.

The share (AA) rose 2% after the aluminum producer reported earnings of $ 1.49 per share, beating estimates of $ 1.29 per share. Sales rose to $ 2.83 billion, above expectations of $ 2.65 billion.
) the stock gained 1.3% after being upgraded to Surperformer from Market Perform in Cowen.
Olin (OLN) stock rose 1.4% after being upgraded to Buy from Neutral.
The stock (ZTS) fell 1.6%. Raymond James demoted the shares to Market Perform from Outperform.
