Kraft will put their mac and cheese in a recyclable microwave safe mug
Kraft Heinz Company said he is developing and testing a microwave mug made from recyclable fibers for his mac and cheese.
Kraft plans to launch a new variety of Mac & Cheese Shapes later this year using the new cup.
Kraft said the mug will also eliminate the plastic label using “direct printing technology.”
“The goal of the design change from plastic to fiber is to reduce the use of plastic and to be both recyclable and compostable in industrial composting facilities. Kraft is working with outside partners to certify and incorporate the appropriate recycling labeling to help consumers know exactly what to do with the packaging after enjoying their meal, ”the company said in a press release.
Matt Carpenter, chief marketing officer at Kraft Heinz, said the company recognizes that consumers “are looking for more sustainable packaging options without sacrificing the convenience or taste they crave. Kraft Mac and Cheese.“
Kraft said it “aims to make packaging that is 100% recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2025”.
