Cranswick chief operating officer appointed to group board after sales smash £2bn

Leading food producer Cranswick has appointed two new directors to the board.

Group chief operating officer Chris Aldersley is joined by the independent non-executive appointment of Yetunde Hofmann.

Mr Aldersley joined the Hull-based company in 1998, serving in various management roles before taking on the role of COO in 2015.

He is responsible for managing the operations of the group’s four primary processing plants and 16 value-added plants, as well as its agricultural operations, which support the group’s vertically integrated supply chain strategy.

It is a decision described as a recognition of the “contribution to the group and the central importance of its role in the implementation of the long-term strategy”.

Analysts recently praised the stable management team for its recent successes.

Ms. Hofmann is Managing Director of Synchrony Development Consulting, an international leadership and change consulting firm and founder of Solaris Global Executive Leadership Development. She is also a Trustee of the Institute of Business Ethics and Visiting Scholar at the Henley Business School of Marketing and Reputation at the University of Reading.

She joins pork and poultry specialist Cranswick – which had a turnover of £2bn last year – already in the same position at natural ingredients specialist Treatt, and will become a member of the committees. audit, compensation, appointment and ESG. Mr. Aldersley joins her on the latter.

Announcing the City appointments, Tim Smith, chairman of FTSE-listed company Cranswick Plc, said: “I am delighted that Yetunde and Chris are joining our board.

“Yetunde’s experience will complement our existing board. She has established experience in mentoring and developing performance, talent and leadership strategies in various organizations which will be invaluable to Cranswick.

“Chris’ role at Cranswick has grown with the rapid development of the group and he has been central to meeting the challenges presented of late by Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic. Chris is helping to deliver our strategy to Second Nature sustainability I am pleased that his contribution is recognized through his appointment to the Board of Directors.
