Accor (www.group.Accor.com), world leader in the hotel industry with more than 400 hotels across India, Middle East, Africa and Turkey expands its presence in East Africa with the opening of the first Mantis property in Kenya. The Mantis Masai Mara Eco-Lodge is fast becoming a flagship establishment of the brand and the group, offering direct access to the Mara-Seregenti animal reserve: the ideal place for unique safari experiences!

Mantis was founded in 2000 by a global entrepreneur and environmentalist Adrien gardiner and offers a diverse collection of extraordinary destinations around the world. Since joining forces in 2018, Accor and Mantis have worked together to seize new opportunities to welcome customers in authentic hotels, eco-lodges and waterways, while prioritizing the cause of sustainability and promoting promoting a better appreciation of the natural environment in each unique destination. .

The group is a partner Rakam Investment Ltée, a public limited company engaged in investment, focusing on real estate since its inception in 2016, and which has developed commercial and residential properties in the Greater Nairobi Metropolitan area.

This partnership is the result of a competitive bidding process between the largest international hotel companies. World leader in real estate and hotel consulting, JLL Hotels & Hospitality, managed the competitive process.

Ann Rutere, CEO Rakam Investment Ltée said, “We are delighted to bring the Accor brand, Mantis, to one of the most distinct and exclusive locations in the Masai Mara. In addition to the uniqueness of the brand and its notoriety in the market, our confidence in this project comes from the emphasis placed on sustainability and the preservation of the natural heritage offered by the Enonkishu Conservatory and Mantis’ expertise in the industry. We are excited to open our doors in 2024 and look forward to delivering a combination of authentic, unique and organized experiences to our visiting guests from all parts of the world. ”

Eco-Lodge Mantis Masai Mara will be strategically located in the Enonkishu Conservatory, on the northern edge of the Mara-Serengeti Game Reserve, and will include 20 tented suites, a restaurant and bar, event space, sauna and wellness center.

As with all Mantis around the world, guests staying at Eco-Lodge Mantis Masai Mara will be immersed in an environment celebrating: conservation, locality and sustainability, with activities ranging from educational talks on the Masai people and the history of the land or “storytelling” nights around the boma.

Paul Gardiner, CEO of Mantis Collection said, “The Masai Mara is one of the most renowned wildlife and nature conservation areas in Africa, and we are delighted to provide guests with lasting adventures that celebrate the culture of the region and stay true to the roots of safari. We will deliver new experiences that will allow clients to make authentic connections with nature and people, while supporting sustainability, conservation and community empowerment and upliftment – the foundational pillars of Mantis. “

Once opened, the lodge will be ready to welcome Safari enthusiasts, offering them the opportunity to experience the wildlife in their surroundings as well as nature lovers, who enjoy stargazing at night, bird watching or taking photographic tours. , all available at the property.

“This is a great opportunity for Accor and Mantis to expand our portfolio in Kenya and to introduce the first Mantis property in the country, “said Marc Willis, CEO of Accor India, Middle East, Africa & Turkey. “This new addition illustrates our key focus on developing and implementing sustainable business practices and tourism products that respect the environment and surrounding communities while meeting the changing and growing expectations of travelers.

The lodge will feature meeting rooms, which can accommodate board and management meetings, as well as dedicated outdoor event spaces, which can accommodate weddings, social events and outdoor events for special occasions.

In addition, leisure and recreation facilities will be available to guests including a small curio shop where guests can purchase basic amenities, Kenyan art and designer items.
